Origin

Kaiwan is the Assyrian name of the planet Saturn, which according to Amos 5:26 in the Bible, was worshiped as a god. The Greek translation used in the Septuagint and Acts 7:43 is "Rephan." The vocalized Hebrew name used in the Masoretic text, Kiyyun, uses the vowel markings of shiqqus, meaning "abominable."
