優れた工芸の技術を持つことで知られる小人の職人。工芸神であるトヴァシュトリの良きライバルでもある。

彼らは神々の役に立つものをいくつも作っている。インドラ神の馬ハリ、馬が引かずとも空中を駆ける戦車、あらゆる恵みを授ける豊穣の牝牛などがそれである。また、トヴァシュトリが作ったソーマが自然にいっぱいになる椀を改良し、同じ椀を4つ作ってみせた。
