Puck is a demon in the Megami Tensei franchise, most prominently appearing as a character in Shin Megami Tensei II.

Origin

"Puck" is an English word for mischievous or hostile spirits which was commonly used in the Middle Ages and the Early Modern period. This word is derived from a common term used in the British Isles and is cognate to the Irish púca, the Welsh pwca, and the Cornish bucca. A character named Puck famously appears in William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream as a prankster fairy.

Puck is a mischievous fairy who likes to play pranks living in Shinjuku. He is blond and wears a green pointed hat and clothes.

Puck is encountered alongside Hanoun and Daleth in Underground Tokyo, having been enlisted by the latter to help him finally prevail over Aleph. This scheme consists of using an Infidelity Sap to brainwash Aleph into falling in love with Hanoun, but when Puck throws the item at him, Hiroko pushes him out of the way, getting hit with the Infidelity Sap instead and becoming infatuated with Daleth. Seeing his mistake, Puck runs away.

Aleph locates Puck at Higashi-Shinjuku, chasing him to collect some Infidelity Sap from him to break the curse on Hiroko. Throughout the dungeon, Puck throws a multitude of items that inflict ailments at Aleph before running away again, but once Aleph finally corners him, he will propose that Aleph give him 10,000 macca in exchange for the Infidelity Sap. Aleph can accept the proposal or refuse. Either choice will result in him yelling that he was kidding, however, and he offers to give Aleph the sap for free. If Aleph refuses to pay him at first, he can then reject getting it for free as well, which makes Puck give him 10,000 macca instead. He can also refuse this, which scares Puck off and causes him to run away, though he drops the Infidelity Sap for Aleph to collect while doing so.
