Kamakura Gongorou is a Demon in the Megami Tensei franchise.

Profile

Origin

Kamakura Gongorō Kagemasa was a samurai descended from the Taira clan who fought for the Minamoto clan during the Gosannen War during Japan's Heian period. He is famous for continuing to fight in a battle despite losing an eye at age 16.

Design

The design of Kamakura Gongorou closely matches his classic portrayal in the kabuki play Shibaraku. In particular, it strongly resembles the interpretation staged by Ichikawa Danjūrō VIII. The pattern on his garments also recalls the mimasu, a motif of three concentric squares that serves as the mon of the Ichikawa family.
