Design

Hoshigami is a girl with long green hair, amber eyes, and a winged halo. She is contained within the glass body of an angelic figure whose face is hidden by roses, donning a white dress and wings. The figure's body in which Hoshigami resides is partially filled with water, encompassed by clouds, a sun, and a moon.

Devil Children Light Book and Dark Book

Hoshigami is the architect of the universe in which the Devil Children series is set, as well as the humans, Devils, and Angels that inhabit it. After seven days, she finished her creation and went to rest in the Orgel Room of Sanctuary, leaving behind the Norn Statue and Armageddon program, which could be used to reshape the world into one without corruption. However, believing the world could transcend its fate, Lucifer installed a secondary Ragnarok program that would unleash a future of possibilities. It was foretold that Devil Children would decide the fate of the world by gathering the Norn Keys, and activating either Armageddon or Ragnarok.

If Setsuna Kai/Mirai Kaname chooses to side with Lucifer and activate Ragnarok, they will meet Hoshigami in the Orgel Room after defeating Michael and Nagahisa Kai. From there, they can either have Hoshigami activate Ragnarok and usher the world into a new era, or battle her to take her place. The former option saves Makai and the human world from destruction, after which Hoshigami opens a gate that lets Setsuna/Mirai enter Deep Hole. The latter option results in Setsuna/Mirai's ascension to godhood, but they are seemingly forgotten about by everyone.

Devil Children White Book

It is revealed that before the universe was created, Hoshigami fought Jashin, a wicked god who wanted to reduce all existence to nothingness. Before Hoshigami lost, however, she awakened to the Great Power (大いなる力, Ōinaru Chikara) and overpowered Jashin, sealing her within the realm of Ultimia. The Great Power was then split among humans, Devils, and Angels.

Nomenclature

Hoshigami's name in DemiKids Light Version and Dark Version, Starhair, is a misinterpretation of ほしがみ hoshigami. かみ kami can be rendered in Kanji as 髪 (hair) or 神 (god); the latter is the intended version, and thus, her name would be properly rendered in Kanji as 星神 Hoshigami (Star God).
