After the Hero is transported to the Diamond Realm by the Heroine to protect him from the ICBMs about to hit Tokyo, he is awoken from his comatose state by En no Ozuno, who introduces himself and his attendents, Goki and Zenki, and then orders the Hero to find his companions Law Hero and Chaos Hero, who were also transported to the realm. Exploring the Diamond Realm, rooms where illusions of En no Ozuno are present in which he will ask the party ideological questions.
When the party reunites and returns to En no Ozuno, he explains what the Diamond Realm is and the current desolate state Tokyo has found itself in. Seeing their resolve to return to Tokyo, En no Ozuno promises to send them back if they do a set of tasks for him, including fetching some Soma for him twice and sending the Hero to go confront some Phantoms in another area of the labyrinth. Once these tasks are completed, En no Ozuno permits them to leave and sends them on their way.
Shin Megami Tensei II
En no Ozuno solely appears in the post-game dungeon, the Diamond Realm. He will greet Aleph's party upon their arrival to the labyrinth and will send them back to the Underground when they desire it.
