This article is about human enemies equated to Demons. For playable members of the main cast, see Partner.
Recruitable humans are a recurring mechanic in the Megami Tensei franchise.
Overview
In some games within the Megami Tensei franchise, certain human characters can serve a near identical role within the player's party as Demons.
Mechanics by Game
In the Shin Megami Tensei series, human enemies belonging to the Messian and Gaean Races can be negotiated with as if they were demons.
Recruitable humans are distinct from standard demons in two ways. The first is that these humans do not incur Magnetite costs when actively summoned within dungeons. The second is that they do not follow the standard Fusion chart and there is no predetermined result when they are used as a fusion material.

List of Recruitable Humans
Trivia
- The mechanical decision to have recruitable humans not incur Magnetite costs was likely inspired by it's in-universe lore. Demons require Magnetite as a source of energy to materialize and maintain physical bodies in the material world.[1]
- It's unclear if the Gaean Amaterasu featured in the CD-ROM² version of Shin Megami Tensei is meant to represent the actual deity or is simply a human named after them.
