Origin

Melchom is a demon mentioned in Jacques Collin de Plancy's Dictionnaire Infernal. He carries a purse and is responsible for the payments to the public employees of hell.^[1] His name is presumably taken from Milcom, the god of the Ammonites, who is mentioned in the Bible.
