Shin Megami Tensei (A-Mode DDS)	Origin: India One of Vishnu's ten avatars. He is a human with a lion's head. Hiranyakashipu, the immortal king of the Rakshasas, tried to kill his son. Narasimha defeated Hiranyakashipu in retaliation.
Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine	インド神話に登場する半人半獅子の神。維持神ヴィシュヌのアヴァターラの一つ。 アスラ族のヒラニヤカシプがブラフマーから、神とアスラにも、人と獣にも、昼と夜にも、家の中と外にも、どんな武器にも殺されない身体が欲しいという願いを叶えてもらった。そのヒラニヤカシプを倒すためにヴィシュヌはライオンの頭をした人間の姿になり、ヒラニヤカシプを倒したといわれている。 Translation: A half-human, half-lion god in Indian mythology. One of the avatars of the preserver god Vishnu. Hiranyakashipu from the Asura was granted the wish for a body that could not be killed by god nor Asura, man or beast, during day or night, inside or outside of a residence, nor by any weapon. For the sake of defeating that Hiranyakashipu, Vishnu took on the form of a lion-headed man.
