Origin
Gogmagog is a giant in Welsh tales. The name is most likely originally unrelated to Gog and Magog from the Bible, but was mistakenly connected to them when translating the tales from Welsh to English. The theorized original Welsh name is Cawr-Madog (among other spelling variants), meaning "giant Madog".
