The rooftop garden is a dorm activity. Seeds can be purchased at Rafflesia. If a seed is planted, the protagonist can tend to the garden with Junpei, Fuuka, Aigis, or Shinjiro on nights when they have an icon over their head. Doing this three times with each of them will either unlock or upgrade their Characteristics. The garden yields extra produce based on which party member the protagonist tended to the garden with.
Persona 4 Golden
In Persona 4 Golden, the protagonist can begin growing a garden in the yard outside of the Dojima house. This activity is initiated from the gardening bucket in the living room. Gardening is introduced at the Dojima Residence on May 22nd and it is available until December 23rd. The protagonist will be able to purchase seedlings from the housewife gardening NPC outside who appears outside of the Dojima house and at Junes. Planting seeds or harvesting grown vegetables doesn't consume time and can be done in all types of weather.
Tending to the garden can be done in the afternoon or evening, during all types of weather. It does consume time, but the vegetables will grow 1 day faster as a result and the protagonist gains +3 Diligence. If tended to on the day right before harvesting, then the yield will increase +1, or +2 if tended to during both afternoon and evening time slots. If Nanako Dojima is home during the afternoon or evening, she will help out. Ryotaro Dojima will also join during the evening if he is home. Both can gain +5 Social Link points from this. Furthermore, Nanako also has special dialogue that can only be read by working in the garden on certain calendar days.
