Trivia
- He has the same name in Japanese as Kinap from Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers.
- There are many contradicting sources about the true identity of Redman.
- According to Kazuma Kaneko, the title Redman was intended to represent a role that any being who can act as a catalyst for supernatural events can assume.[1][2]
- In August 2026, Kaneko stated that the character in Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner is a parallel world version of Stephen from Shin Megami Tensei.[1][2][3]
- Kaneko also stated that the title was specifically chosen to be used in Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers to misdirect players as to their identity.[1][2] However during an interview in 1997, when the host mentioned that they were surprised to see Redman as a returning character in Soul Hackers, Kaneko did not contest the statement.[4]
- The book Megami Tensei Jūnenshi suggested that it was possible Redman was either Stephen or Akemi Nakajima.[5]
- When asked if Redman was Stephen, Ryutaro Ito replied that he thinks Redman could be in a wheelchair.[6]
