The so-called Queen's Necklace[a] is a necklace which was commissioned by King Louis XV of France for his mistress Jeanne Bécu (better known as Madame du Barry). However, he died before its completion, and in 1785, the necklace was acquired by Jeanne de Valois-Saint-Rémy, the self-proclaimed Countess of La Motte, who obtained it via forging the signature of the French queen Marie Antoinette to have the Grand Almoner of France, Louis-René de Rohan, buy the necklace, and she had it delivered to her. The Affair of the Queen's Necklace,[b] also known in English as the Affair of the Diamond Necklace, became a political scandal and damaged the reputation of Marie Antoinette, who was executed in 1793 during the French Revolution.
Design
When seen on the field map, Queen's Necklace appears as a red-hued, brilliant-cut gem that sparkles. In battle, it appears as a ghost-like projection with large, swirling yellow eyes, above an elaborate diamond necklace. The source necklace appears to be modeled after the infamous subject of the Affair of the Diamond Necklace.
When using Queen's Necklace to make a new Persona, the available bonus traits may vary if there is overlap with the trait belonging to the second Persona used for fusion.
