Quantum Devil Saga: Avatar Tuner is a series of novels written by Yu Godai, the story director of the Digital Devil Saga games. It features a plot closer to her original concepts for the first game's plot, which needed to be reworked to work for the format of a video game.
Differences from the Games
The novels feature a much darker tone compared to the games. Sera is a less naive and well meaning character and is instead more sardonic and melancholic. Rather than singing to relieve hunger, she allows the members of the Embryon to drink her blood. This usually comes in the form of small capsules.
