That's Catch 22 is a novel in the Digital Devil Saga series. It was published in Digital Devil Saga: Avatar Tuner The Master Guide I and Digital Devil Saga: Avatar Tuner The Master Guide II.
Synopsis
Set in 2014, six years before their deaths, the novel describes the circumstances of Heat O'Brien and Serph Sheffield's first meeting.
O'Brien, having falsely been accused of the murder of a professor, receives unexpected aid from a mysterious boy claiming to be his best friend. Though he doubts Sheffield's intentions at first, he quickly realizes that Serph's uncanny intelligence may be the key to successfully proving his innocence. As the investigation progresses, the characters develop a bond that foreshadows their eventual work together on the God Project.
