Should this be split?
Should this novel series be split? Right now the wiki seems a bit inconsistent about how it is handled compared to the Digital Devil Story and New Digital Devil Story novels. Would like to hear some input from those more in the know; for now I've redirected the other novel page links to here. --

- I believe Capes said he did it this way because it was more like a manga with one story broken up into volumes rather than being sequels which I guess makes sense given the release dates. However, El Salem, which is currently handled the same, had its volumes released over several years so maybe the naming of them is the biggest factor for why it is handled the way it is. - I have no problems with redirecting each volume to here, since they all effectively happen back-to-back, even with volume 3 being a prequel arc. The main place where I think separating content in volumes is good is in Appearances sections, since they tend to be more comprehensive and some subjects would have a lot of information that would be hard to read as one wall of text covering all five volumes. Outside of that, though, I believe it is more productive to refer to the novels as one thing. The Jenna Angel page I recently added QDS content to is a good example of what I mean: I found it better to write their QDS Profile covering the relevant information from every volume in one paragraph, while the Appearances section is split in five; merging their digital presence from volumes 1 and 2, with their backstory from 3, and their physical presence in 4 and 5 into one section would have been the worse option in my opinion. - I see, thank you for your input. Right now within staff we are considering a format (not just for QDS but for all novel series; so this would include NDDS for example) where there is a central novel series article and individual articles for each novel that go more in-depth into each entry than the overall series page. An example of this is how there is a central page on Wikipedia for Lord of the Rings and then individual pages for the three books comprising the trilogy. It sounds like this would suit your needs more cleanly. Do you have any specific thoughts on whether or not this format should be pursued? --

- I see no issues with that format; I expect to write quite a bit more of "In the Quantum Devil Saga: Avatar Tuner series" and extensive Appearances sections as I go through each article, so having a page for said series and for the individual novels would make sense. I have only read QDS myself, but I don't believe it would be much different for other novel series. GabrielSemicolon (talk) 01:50, 31 December 2025 (UTC)
