Morgan is a Demon in the Megami Tensei franchise.

Profile

Origin

Morgan's official profile in Megami Tensei II no Subete states that she is a Celtic queen of the yoma with both intense love and intense hate; she stabs warriors to death and lures them to the underworld.[1] This does not neatly match any particular figure, but it likely refers to Morgan le Fey, a sorceress character from the Matter of Britain narrative cycle who is first known to appear in Geoffrey of Monmouth's Vita Merlini ("Life of Merlin").

Morgan both aids and harms Arthur in different stories. She indirectly causes Arthur's death by taking his magic scabbard; after Arthur is fatally wounded at Camlann, Morgan then takes him to the otherworldly island of Avalon, of which she is queen. Some variations of the story present Morgan as Arthur's sister or half-sister, but others present no familial relation between the two.

The appellation "le Fay" comes from French la fée, which, as used in medieval French romances, refers to women with supernatural powers.[2]

Design

In Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei II, Morgan appears as a female warrior wielding a sword and shield; this base design is shared with Nike and Valkyrie. In the game itself, Morgan has gray armor, blonde hair, and green skin, while in her official artwork she has green hair and does not have green skin.
