Origin

According to Christian tradition, Saint Lucy^[a] was a martyr in Syracuse, Sicily, where she was sentenced to execution due to her refusal to burn a sacrifice for the emperor. During the day of her execution, she was stabbed multiple times, alongside being burned alive, but she still remained rooted to the ground, praying. She ultimately had her eyes gouged out and was killed in the final act.

Design

Lucia is depicted as a woman, with her eyes and throat being covered in bandages. Its bottom half is a glass sphere shaped like an eyeball.
