Profile
Origin
Kokkuri is a game and divination method that was popular during the Meiji era. It was typically played using an apparatus consisting of three bamboo rods arranged to form a tripod and a pot lid or platter on top, covered by a cloth. The players, typically three or more people, would rest both of their hands on the apparatus and ask Kokkuri-san questions, which it would then answer by moving (or not moving) the bamboo rods. Kokkuri-san itself was said to be an animal spirit that was a mix between a fox, a dog, and a raccoon.
