The Dog of the New Moon first appears when Lamashtu appears in Hatsudai Shelter, so after Lamashtu devours Yuuka Tachibana they leave.

Ayato Katsuragi first fights the Dog of the New Moon when Lamashtu is summoned by Isamu Yamase at the Yaesu Underground to kill Marduk, Marduk teams up with Katsuragi and starts a fight with the dog and Lamashtu, after they're defeated Lamashtu seals Marduk in the mesopotamian tablet Labis Sigil.
