Junpei, often described as the class clown, is an outgoing and kind individual with a desire to be a hero. Due to his upbringing, Junpei rarely shows his friends or acquaintances his true feelings, such as his jealously and inferiority complex. Despite this, Junpei can be a very caring person and will apologize when he's done something wrong. Like most teenage boys at his school, Junpei jokes about getting with girls or other perverse activities, but is rarely seen even speaking to girls outside of his dormmates.
Junpei has a lanky stature, sports a goatee, and is rarely seen without his baseball cap. His hair is buzzed short, which is typical of baseball players, even though he isn't on the baseball team. Junpei is associated with the color dark blue, which is the color of his hat and the dress shirt he wears under his school uniform instead of the standard white shirt. In Persona 3 Reload, he wears his school jacket around his waist when using his new battle attire. In Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, Junpei ends up in Inaba on his way home from coaching a children's baseball team and ends up wearing the team's sky blue colored uniform during the P-1 Climax.
