While Hatsudai Shelter is invaded, Yamase is tasked to take the civilians that survived to safety, however he considered them a hindrance and that they'll die regardless if he does anything, so all the citizens that survived were taken to the farm of Hatsudai Shelter and were killed by demons or turned into zombies, among the casualties were Yoko Nishino and Chita Nishino who fused into the Mother-Child Fusion Akumajin and while they're killed by Katsuragi and the rest he is comforting himself on the surface as he joins Dantalion the Fallen to become a Baal Believer. After escaping from the shelter he lures Katsuragi to become a Baal Follower too, but he refuses and so he escapes with Dantalion.
Once Katsuragi is capture by Adonis the Fiend and send to the Yoyogi Labor Camp he gives Katsuragi a broken COMP out of compassion to him and after Katsuragi escapes he tells Katsuragi that they'll meet again.
Long after this Yamase meets Katsuragi at Yaesu Underground City, with the plans of summoning a demon, Lamashtu the Femme, but after meeting with Marduk the Deity he is killed by him because as it turns out he has the heart of Yoshio Nishino, and wanted revenge for his late wife and son, and so Yamase is killed.
