Movie Theaters are a recurring location in the Persona franchise which provide mechanics for increasing Social Stats and improving Social Link relationships by hanging out to watch a movie. Watching a movie alone or as a hangout with a friend will pass time.

Persona 3
- Main article: Screen Shot Theater
In Persona 3, The Screen Shot Movie theater is located at Port Island Station. The protagonist can visit the movie theater for various improvements to Social Stats. The protagonist can also go there during social links or Sunday hangouts. In Persona 3 FES, a summer movie festival was introduced allowing the protagonist to visit the movie theater with social links and dormmates for an extra boost to Social Stats. As of Persona 3 Reload, the protagonist can also work part time at the movie theater concession stand for money and a boost to Social Stats.
Persona 4 Golden
The theater, 30 frame, shows a new movie every month. The protagonist can pay ¥1500 to watch a movie with a party member during the afternoon time slot, but only as long as no one is trapped in the TV World. Watching a movie with a party member gives them a level plus three bonus stats depending on which movie is showing. Each party member can only see each movie once.
The Investigation Team will text the protagonist and let him know when a movie they are interested in is playing. Taking a party member to see a movie they like will give them +15 Social Link points in addition to the level and bonus stats.
There are two exceptions:
- The final party member, Naoto, does not have a favored movie
- Rise can only get a level from the movies, never any bonus stats

Persona 5

Reason: Needs list of movies |
There are three movie theaters in Persona 5. Only the one in Shibuya can initially be accessed, which occurs after the first Palace is completed in April. The second theater becomes available once Shinjuku is unlocked in June. The third in Yongen-Jaya opens upon completing the related Mementos mission, which becomes available in September.
Each theater shows a different film that changes at the beginning of certain months (some movies are available for two months and others for one month). Every movie has a particular social stat that it will increase by five points (three music notes). The benefit will increase by two points if the protagonist has read Cinema Treasures and by 50% (rounded down) with a Luck Reading from Chihaya beforehand; these benefits stack to a maximum of ten points gained in a social stat from one movie.[1]
Watching a movie for a second time reduces the base points earned to two (one music note), and the protagonist cannot watch a movie a third time unless accepting a Confidant Invitation to see the movie together. A Confidant invitation provides social stat points as if watching for the first time, regardless of whether it is a first, second, or third screening.[1]
In Persona 5 Royal, additional movies were added to several theaters and Cinema Treasures was renamed to The Craft of Cinema.
