Io is a Persona in the Persona series. It is the initial Persona of Yukari Takeba.
Profile
Origin
In Greek mythology, Io was a priestess of Hera and one of the mortal lovers of Zeus.[1] Io initially rejected Zeus's sexual advances until she was thrown out of her house by her father, on the advice of the oracles. Zeus then transformed her into a cow to hide her from Hera. Hera discovered this and asked for Io as a gift. She sent a hundred-eyed giant named Argus to watch Io and keep Zeus from visiting her. Zeus freed Io, and in revenge, Hera sendt a gadfly to terrorize Io, forcing her to wander the world restlessly.
Design
Io appears as a young girl with a similar appearance to Yukari, sitting in a throne shaped like a bull's head, which she is chained to. The astrological sign for the Taurus constellation can be seen in between the nostrils of the bull.
