出身地：日本 ひげの生えた一つ目の鬼で、節分の夜に現れる。首無しの馬に乗って道を歩き回り、出会った人間を投げ殺してしまう。 古来、節分や大みそかは、妖怪変化の活動する、百鬼夜行の日であった。その日に、ヤコウは、首なし馬に乗って現れるという。 ヤコウに出会った人間は投げ殺されるので、夜の外出をさけた。もし出会ったら、ぞうりを頭に乗せて地にふせていれば殺されずにすむ。 祭りに関係して出現するヤコウは、神に近い存在である。 Translation: Place of origin: Japan A bearded, one-eyed oni that appears on the night of Setsubun. He roams the streets riding a headless horse, throwing people he encounters to their deaths. Since ancient times, Setsubun and New Year's Eve have been the days of Hyakki Yakō, when monstrous apparitions are active. On those days, it is said Yakou appears riding a headless horse. People who encountered Yakou were thrown to their deaths, so they avoided going out at night. If one encounters him, they can avoid being killed by placing their sandals on their head and lying face-down on the ground. Yakou, which appears in connection with festivals, is a being close to the gods.
