The Soul Diver is a character in Shin Megami Tensei.
Profile
Soul Diver is a portly man dressed in orange garbs and donning an asian conical hat. Deemed as a Soul Diver, he can infiltrate the minds of others and manipulate them to fit any purpose desired.

Soul Diver can be found in a jail cell on the bottom floor of the Shinjuku Underground in the Tokyo of the year 203X. Being gifted with psychic powers, Ozawa forces the Soul Diver to delve into the psyches of dissenters against his rule to brainwash them into obedience. Under the threat of Ozawa's demons, Soul Diver is unable to escape his grasp and is confined to a cell whenever he is not fulfilling his purpose. After explaining the reason for his miserable state, he notices that there is something wrong with the Hero's psyche and determines that it is because his partner is in trouble.
After the party defeats Ozawa, they return to Soul Diver and get him out of his cell, and as thanks for freeing him, he sets out to Shibuya to help the Hero's partner, who turns out to be the messian girl possessed by a demon. Soul Diver sends the group into her mind so they can defeat the demon and restore the girl's mental state back to normal, and once his duty has been completed, he bids farewell to the party and leaves.
