Manual Descriptions
Persona 5	A third-year student who serves as the student council president of Shujin Academy. She maintains excellent grades and good conduct due to her honor-student qualities, such as an earnest personality and unwillingness to compromise on even the most minor of matters. The faculty of Shujin also holds her in high esteem. After hearing that the sensational Phantom Thieves may be Shujin students, she starts looking for leads and eventually confronts the protagonist and his friends. However...
Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight	The calm and collected brainiac of the Phantom Thieves. Codename "Queen." A third-year at Shujin Academy, she is the student council president with excellent grades and a clean record of conduct. She appears to be a typical model student... until you learn she's also a martial arts master! Watch out for her dance moves inspired by aikido!

She is tasked with exposing the Phantom Thieves by Principal Kobayakawa, she finds out who they are. She blackmails the thieves into changing the heart of Kaneshiro, a mafia boss. The thieves and her enter the metaverse but are unable to enter Kaneshiro's Palace because it is floating above the city. Makoto theorizes that they need to be seen as a customer of Kaneshiro to enter. The thieves and her leave to find Kaneshiro. Makoto finds his base, but Thieves and her get blackmailed. Upon returning to the metaverse, the Phantom Thieves and her are able to enter the palace. When they encounter Shadow Kaneshiro Makoto awakens to her Persona, Johanna, then she joins the Phantom Thieves.

Persona 5 Tactica

A third-year student and the class president of Shujin Academy. Influenced by her strict sister, she always felt she had to be a responsible student. She used to be a floormat to the staff at her school, but after breaking out of her shell, she awakens her Persona and joins the Phantom Thieves. She assumes the role of the reliable, older sister in the group, and is a physical brawler who uses her fists to fight in battle, which can make her scary sometimes. Her Persona is Johanna.

Trivia

• When Ryuji sees Makoto's awakening, he calls her the 世紀末覇者Ruler of Century's End Seikimatsu hasha, referencing Raoh in Fist of the North Star. In the English version of Persona 5, Ryuji calls her Miss Post-Apocalyptic Raider. In the English version of Royal, Ryuji's line was changed to instead call her the Fist of the Phantom Star, making it more obvious what is being referenced.
• For the 30th anniversary celebration of the Persona series at Sea Paradise, Makoto was drawn with a porcupinefish.
