Trivia

• Though not used in the same manner, Marie having a bamboo comb comes from the tale of Izanagi in the Kojiki. When Izanagi went to Yomi to find Izanami, she asked him to wait while she asked the gods of Yomi if she could leave. Impatient, Izanagi took a tong from his bamboo comb and lit it on fire to use as a torch, revealing Izanami's true form as a rotting corpse.
