Makai is a location in Devil Children Black Book and Red Book. It is the realm where Devils reside under the lordship of Lucifer, the Great Demon Lord.

Ice Land

A world cloaked in snow ruled by Hel, and home of the Golden Bandits.
Marble Land

A world of windy peaks. Its resident Deva, Shura, and Rasetsu tribes struggle for supremacy over this land, and it is thus without a ruler.
Sand Land

A desert world ruled by Isis, possessing graves of the departed.
Forest Land

A nature-rich world ruled by Belial. It consists of three forests, each with their own chief.
Fire Land

A world of raging flames ruled by Mammon. The depraved Devils of this land insinuated conflict with the Angels.
Central Land

A metropolitan world occupying the very middle of Makai, and is where Lucifer's Dark Palace is located.
Sanctuary

The highest stratum of Makai and domain of Hoshigami, the universe's architect.
Deep Hole

A dark dungeon where powerful and evil beings are banished, ruled by Zebul, Berith, and Phegor.

Devil Children Black Book and Red Book
Makai is the counterpart to the Real World, or the Surface, where humans live. It used to be known as Tenkai and was populated by those belonging to the Holy Power, but after it was invaded by Devils, its inhabitants fled to the Surface. No trace of the Holy Power's environments or architecture remained in Tenkai, now Makai, which was divided into six strata and ruled by the Great Demon Lord Lucifer.[1]
