Kuma no Megane was a smartphone app released in September of 2011 for iOS and Android.
Overview
The concept of the app was that information about Persona 4 Golden and Persona 4 Arena was hidden in fog, and users could reveal it by using the app as a pair of glasses. It was based on the Fog in the TV World from Persona 4 and how Teddie made glasses for the Investigation Team to let them see clearly. After downloading the app, users could open it and point their camera at articles and promotional materials related to Persona 4 in Persona Magazine, Weekly Famitsu, and Dengeki to get access to bonus content. Articles that could be scanned were marked with a glasses icon. The first use for the app was an image of a television on the back of a special Persona 4 edition of Dengeki PlayStation distributed at Tokyo Game Show 2011, and scanning it allowed users to see a promotional video for Persona 4 Arena narrated by Fumihiko Tachiki.
