Nomenclature

Dolurae's inspiration is unclear, but may possibly be inspired by Dorylaeum, which was host to major battles during both the first and second Crusades. Pontanus Hospicium is most likely named after John Pontanus, an alchemist whose name is attached to the authorship of a treatise titled the Epistle on the Mineral Fire, while Geber's Laboratory comes from Jabir ibn Hayyan, an alchemist and polymath whose name was often Latinized as Geber.
