In Jewish Kabbalah, a golem is an automaton made of clay or mud created by a rabbi. The presence of Clay, Stone, and especially Bone Golems in Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei II may be taken specifically from Dungeons & Dragons, which divorces golems from their Jewish origins. However, unlike the Stone or Bone Golems, the Clay Golem's profile in Megami Tensei II no Subete mentions the golem's Jewish origins.
