Casualry refers to people of a specific social stratum in the world of Shin Megami Tensei IV.
Profile
Casualries are one of the two main castes in the Eastern Kingdom of Mikado. As a group, they are generally poor and are restricted to jobs involving physical labor such as farming or fishing, echoing a peasant class in medieval society. Luxurors, the more privileged class, often look down upon them and consider themselves superior.[1] Casualries are able to advance to the Luxuror class if they are selected to become Samurai during a Gauntlet Rite, which every citizen of Mikado participates in after turning eighteen regardless of class.

Shin Megami Tensei IV
Casualries primarily appear in Shin Megami Tensei IV, in which their social status is relevant to the plot events of the game. Throughout the story, Casualries begin to transform into Demons after reading books distributed to them by the Black Samurai. This is due to the contents of the books stirring strong feelings and desires, often negative, that many Casualries are repressing.[2] The gatherings in which they read this material are referred to as Sabbaths.
Flynn and Walter belong to the Casualry class. This is often referenced by Walter to indicate a feeling of camaraderie with Flynn due to their shared social status. [3]
