Game Appearances

Shin Megami Tensei if...

He appears as a boss in the Earth Nomos.

  • In the Japanese versions, Apaosha is characterized as an aggressive and boastful old man through his manner of speaking:
    • He uses kono washi (このワシ) to refer to himself. While washi (ワシ) is a pronoun conventionally used by elderly men in Japanese fiction, adding (この) as a prefix denotes a nuance of high self-importance.
    • The use of katakana for washi (ワシ) instead of the hiragana (わし) or kanji (儂) variants may give his speech an extra layer of highlighting himself since katakana is sometimes used to put emphasis on words.
    • He uses the copula ja (じゃ), which is the stereotypical old man version of da (だ), and adds i (い) as a suffix, which is used to denote heightened emotion.
  • In both Japanese versions of Shin Megami Tensei if..., his name contains a typo. It's spelled as "Aopasha" (アオパシャ), but this error was corrected in Hazama Hen, which properly writes his name as "Apaosha" (アパオシャ).
