Velvet Room is a recurring location in the Persona series. The room is a place that exists between dream and reality, mind and matter, and that only those who are bound by a contract can enter.[a]
It is typically hosted by Igor, along with one or more "Velvet Attendants." The characters serving as the attendants vary by game.

The Velvet Room serves as a place to fuse Personas, acting similarly to the Cathedral of Shadows in the Shin Megami Tensei series. All party members that wield a Persona in the first three entries are able to fuse new Personas. However--only the protagonist, dubbed a "wild card", is able to do so in Persona 3, 4, and 5. Many games also include a Compendium, which allows you to register Personas as well as later summon them at any time (at a fee).
