Social Link

Social Links, known as Community (コミュニティ, Komyuniti) in the Japanese version, shortly S. Links (コミュ, Komyu), are gameplay mechanic in Persona 3, Persona 4 and Persona 5 (where they are called Confidants).

Each Social Link represents a single Arcana, levelling up particular Social Link raises the experience bonus received when fusing Persona of that Arcana. Completing a Social Link grants access to fusing Ultimate Persona of that Arcana.

Persona 3

Social Links make their first appearance in Persona 3.

Persona 3 Em

Social Links are also present in mobile game Persona 3 Em. Game features six Social Links, consisting of first six SEES members and Elizabeth. They can be ranked up only during dialogue or free-time events. Since Personas do not level up in this game, maxing Social Links grants the player unique items.

Persona 4

Social Links return in this game and play larger role. Protagonist can form Social Links with all party members and developing them gives them more combat capabilities. For example, Magician Arcana Social Link at level one will give Yosuke ability to take mortal blow for the protagonist. at level ten his Persona will evolve from Jiraiya to Susano-O, improving his elemental resistance and stats.
