Profile
Origin
Belial (Hebrew: בְּלִיַּעַל, romanized: bălīyyaʿal) is a Hebrew word meaning "worthlessness". The Bible several times uses the idiom "sons of Belial" to refer to worthless men. In the Second Temple period, Belial (or Beliar) came to be seen as a personal entity, mentioned as a fallen angel in opposition to God in the Dead Sea Scrolls.
