Persona 3 Drama CD: Moonlight
The "fifth-generation Labrys" was briefly mentioned in the dialog of Persona 3 Drama CD: Moonlight. Though the character wasn't planned to be in any games at the time of the CD's release in 2007, the lead writer for Persona 4 Arena, Yuichiro Tanaka, later confirmed this character was the same as the one that later debuted in the fighting game.[1]

Labrys is the Lydian word for a double-headed axe. Labrys herself was specifically named after the axe wielded by the Minotaur in Greek folklore.[2]
