Attribute, also known as Element or Affinity, is one of the main properties of a skill in the Megami Tensei franchise.

Overview

Skills are classified by Attribute according to their function. For damaging skills, their Attribute is the type of damage it deals, such as Agi being a Fire skill since it deals Fire damage. For skills that provide passive benefits, their Attribute may be Passive or otherwise related to their function. Skills within a given Attribute may also share a common function, such as Ice skills inflicting Freeze.

Resistances are defined in terms of Attributes, though it may be that not every Attribute can be resisted. For instance, the Healing Attribute is often impossible to resist.
