Trivia

  • Yaoling's Finishing Touch quote reads "散虑自逍遥"[2] which translates to "Get rid of your worries and live freely" in Mandarin Chinese from "散虑逍遥" contained in the famous Chinese book "Thousand Character Classic."
  • All of Yaoling's Character preview trailer on P5X Official Bilibili account listed Chinese dub as the default language option [3].
    • In the version 3.3 Firecracker form character preview trailer, Yaoling demonstrates the ability to speak Sichuanese in the Chinese dub[4].

Nomenclature

李 Lǐ is a Chinese surname meaning "plum", famously the surname of the ruling family of the Tang dynasty. The character's given name is composed of 瑶 yáo (Traditional Chinese: 瑤), meaning "jade", and 铃 líng (Traditional Chinese: 鈴), meaning "bell".

Her code name may come from the second character in her given name, read as 鈴 rin in Japanese.

In the Chinese names of her Firecracker outfit, the term tàipínglè (literally "supreme peace and joy") refers to a type of Chinese festival music also known as the "Five-Directions Lion Dance" (Simplified Chinese: 五方狮子舞, Traditional Chinese: 五方獅子舞, romanized Wǔfāng Shīzi Wǔ).
