Yahata is Karukozaka High School's Mathematics teacher. He has an interest in electronics but is also very indecisive and timid.
- He uses "boku / ぼく" to refer to himself which gives a modest and youthful impression.

Professor Yahata is normally found in class 2-H. At the beginning of the game, he is indecisive on what to do and momentarily bemoans that he had just bought a laptop with his bonus, but then refocuses on the current situation and laments his inability to do anything. Later, the Protagonist and their partner ask him for his laptop so they can use the Demon Summoning Program. He is hesitant to offer it to them but, with extra persuasion from the partner, he instead settles on giving them his COMP, which he says he felt inspired to make after seeing a boy with a husky with one, though he adds that he cannot figure out how to use it. Returning to him will have him ask how the COMP is working for the party.[1]
In the World of Sloth, Yahata can be found struggling and failing to dig in the mines, bemoaning how weak he is. When he returns to the school, Yahata will wonder how long they are going to have to wait until help comes for them.
In Yumi's ending, Yahata is pleased with how useful his COMP ended up being and calls it his best invention. Yumi attempts to tell him it was constantly acting up, but he ignores her and rambles on about how he will build an even bigger and better new COMP.
