"We Wish Our Dog Would Return" is quest #20 in Persona 4 and quest #9 in Persona 4 Golden.
Overview
"We Wish Our Dog Would Return" can be accepted after completing "I Wish I Didn't Crave Snacks". This quest is part of the Hermit Social Link with the Fox. When the protagonist visits the Fox at Tatsuhime Shrine, it brings him an ema from a family that wishes their pet dog, Koro, would return. On four different non-rainy days, the protagonist finds a dog hanging out at the river bank of the Samegawa Flood Plain, the north map of the Central Shopping District, the road near the Samegawa, and then again on the same road. The dog seems afraid of the protagonist at first and runs away, but gradually warms up to him each time the protagonist speaks gently to it. When the dog quits running away, the protagonist will be able to feed it something like a Steak Skewer from Souzai Daigaiku, and it gains enough energy to finally go back home. Upon returning to the fox and reporting back what happened, the fox's bond with the protagonist deepens, and the Hermit Social Link increases to rank 4.
