Valefor is a Demon in Giten Megami Tensei: Tokyo Revelation.

Profile

Origin

Valefar is a spirit in European demonology first attested as the 14th spirit in Johann Weyer's Pseudomonarchia Daemonum, which draws from earlier sources. Valefar, also known as Malaphar, is said to be a strong duke with the form of a lion and the head of a thief. He begets familiarity for his own until they are hanged by a noose, and he has 10 legions under his command.^[1]

In the Ars Goetia section of The Lesser Key of Solomon, which is heavily based on the Pseudomonarchia Daemonum, Valefar is said to be the 6th spirit summoned by King Solomon of Israel. He is stated to have a "lowring" head ("lowring" meaning "raging" or "scowling")^[2] rather than the head of a thief.^[a] The Lesser Key additionally alters his description to say that he is a good familiar but tempts to steal.^[4]
