The Turtle is a character in Shin Megami Tensei.

A talking Turtle that is going to be killed for its meat.
Gameplay
The Turtle is one of the creatures used to travel Flooded Tokyo. Its use is mandatory on the Chaos route, while on the Neutral route, the Hero can choose between using it or using the Octopus instead.

Shin Megami Tensei
On the Chaos side of the Basilica, a merchant can be found planning to kill a Turtle and sell its meat as a remedy for aging in a scheme to get rich. If the Hero enters the Turtle's room, it begs him to help it. Should the Hero agree to its request, the merchant will angrily intervene and accuse him of trying to run off with his profits, though he allows the Hero to take the Turtle after becoming intimidated by his weapon. Returning to the Turtle, the sea creature expresses its gratitude by gifting the Hero the Turtle Bell to call it whenever he needs a ride. The Hero later uses the Turtle's aid to traverse Tokyo after it is flooded.
If the Hero saves the Octopus on the other side of the Basilica instead, the Turtle is killed.
