Origin Gnosticism

Sophia is a character in Shin Megami Tensei: Nine. The Aeon who unintentionally created Yaldabaoth, she aids humanity and represents the Neutral alignment.

Profile

Origin

Sophia[a] (lit. "wisdom") is a figure in several Gnostic traditions. In Sethianism, she is one of the twelve Aeons, emanations from the unknowable God (the Bythos). She unintentionally created the aberration Ialdabaoth, who created the material world and arrogantly proclaims himself to be the one and only God. When Ialdabaoth created Adam and Eve, Sophia imparted a divine spark so that they may be able to achieve gnosis (knowledge) and gain salvation by escaping the false material world.
