This is a complete summary of the plot of Reach for the Moon, an event in Persona 5: The Phantom X. Each heading represents the title of the chapter that events occur in.

Reach for the Moon

The Pink Door

Nagisa Kamisiro arrives in Paulownia Mall to look for Makoto Yuki, whereupon he finds a pink door resembling the ones in Tartarus. When he touches the door, it suddenly opens, and his vision is covered in a bright flash.

Leader of SEES

Wonder suddenly awakens in Thebel with a headache and no memories of what he was doing immediately prior. When he cannot find an exit, he climbs the stairs to the next level, where is attacked by Shadows. Unable to summon his Persona, he is saved by Kotone Shiomi.

When Kotone explains Tartarus and the Dark Hour, Kamisiro feels like he has heard of them before, but cannot remember. Kotone explains that she was separated from SEES during an expedition by the same pink door which sent Wonder to Tartarus. Together, they resolve to climb Tartarus and find their way back.

Important Friends

Kotone and Wonder search for a way out of Tartarus when they come across another pink door. They reluctantly touch the door and step through. On the other side, they find Paulownia Mall, which they cannot exit because of an invisible wall.

The duo take a break at Chagall, and discuss their respective teammates. Wonder feels like he recognizes the names of some of Kotone's friends.

A Shared Struggle

When they exit Chagall, Wonder and Kotone are attacked by Shadows, and Wonder is able to summon his Persona again. After defeating the Shadows, another pink door appears. When they step through, they are transported back to Tartarus.

As Kotone and Kamisiro continue to look for a way out, they discuss what they fight and how they fight it.

Fun in a Strange City

Suddenly thrust into Kichijoji, Kotone and Wonder theorize that doing things together makes the pink door appear. To that end, Kamisiro takes Kotone on a tour of Kichijoji, during which they visit a fried food shop and Jazz Jin. When they are done, the door appears, and they return to Tartarus.

Magician of Desire

As they attempt to climb Thebel, Wonder and Kotone are threatened by a mysterious voice who urges them that "it is not wise to proceed," and to stay in Tartarus, as "there are still those who await thee in this diorama."

After continuing anyway and proceeding through a pink door, they arrive at the roof to Iwatodai Dorm during the Dark Hour. There, they defeat the Magician of Desire, who had intended to "connect the distant realms to allow desires to bloom."

Until Next Time!

After defeating the Magician of Desire, Kotone hands Wonder a pink shard the Shadow had dropped, and they both step through a white door. Back in Paulownia Mall, Wonder wakes up on a bench to Makoto Yuki and no memories of what he was just doing. He finds the shard in his pocket and wonders how it got there.

Reverie

Kotone Shiomi wakes up on a bench in Paulownia Mall and talks to Theodore about the fun dream she believes she just had. Though she cannot remember the dream, she still feels like she forgot something else. She decides to return to the dorm to spend time with her friends when a flash envelops the screen.

Side Stories

Friendships Bloom

Kotone and Nagisa find themselves at the entrance to Tartarus and encounter another pink Monad Door, this time with an unusual pattern on the flower petals. After touching the door, they are transported to Shibuya and opt to explore the area. While visiting Untouchable, Kotone shows interest in a lacrosse stick. Upon touching it, the two are returned to the Tartarus entrance and find that Kotone has a glowing pink glass fragment in her hand that fits an indent on the earlier Monad Door. Noticing five more similar indents, the two of them decide to enter the door again and look for more objects that may transform into fragments to see what happens.
