Noa is a minor character in Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse. She is featured in three Challenge Quests: "[Int] Investigate Tokyo Dome", "Defeat the Ghosts", and "Where the Corpse Went".

Profile

Little is known about Noa prior to Tamagami possessing her body. According to Hiroshi, she had been falsely imprisoned and put on death row, leading to Tamagami using her for his experiments. This experimentation turns her into the medium to summon the National Defense Divinity Izanami. It is also hinted by the Patriots that she and Hiroshi had a past together.[1]

She appears to be a long-haired woman wearing a sleeveless white dress with a slit below the waist that exposes her leg. On her wrists and ankles are cuffs; the cuffs on her ankles are chained together. When possessed by Tamagami, she holds a jar containing his brain.

Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse

Noa is first briefly mentioned by the Corpse Army fought in "[Int] Investigate Tokyo Dome".

She makes a physical appearance during "Defeat the Ghosts" after Nanashi defeats the Yomi Army chasing after Hiroshi, who is shaken to see her in-person. But it is quickly revealed that her corpse has been possessed by the remnants of Tamagami, his brain housed in the jar he carries in his hands. Tamagami speaks through her body and explains his motivations for creating the National Defense Divinities: to protect Japan from the foreign powers encroaching on it. Using Noa's body, he can continue to pursue his goal in saving Japan then attacks Nanashi and Hiroshi to use them as sacrifices. However, he is defeated by Nanashi, allowing Noa to pass away. Hiroshi then takes her body away for burial.

However, her body vanishes soon afterwards, causing Hiroshi to approach the Patriots for an answer and call upon Nanashi for help. The Patriots explain that the last National Defense Divinity, Izanami, had been attempting to possess Noa's body for the past 25 years to no avail. It was not until she died that Izanami could finish her manifestation into the real world, transporting her body to Yomotsu Hirasaka to complete the possession.
