In Greek mythology, Medea[a] was a sorceress said to be a priestess of Hecate. Medea aided Jason in his search for the Golden Fleece by healing him and killing her brother to let him flee. She would later wed Jason, but when Jason plans to abandon her and marry the Corinthian king Creon's daughter Creusa, she kills Jason's and her own children, along with Jason's new bride Creusa.
