Origin

According to a story collected in Charles Leland's The Algonquin Legends of New England, Malsum is an evil wolf spirit. Thomas Parkhill (1992 and 1997) believes that Leland invented the story himself.[1][2]

出身地:不詳
アルゴン本社を乗っ取っり、パラダイムXに異常を引き起こした電霊。マニトゥから生まれた悪魔である。

アルゴンキン族に伝わる伝承ではマルスムは善神グルースカップと双子の関係にある神だが、その性質は極めて悪く、グルースカップが太陽や月、獣、魚、人間など良いものを作ったのに対し、谷や山、蛇などの人間が困るものばかりを作っていた。このマルスムは、策を用いて何度となくグルースカップの命を狙うが、最後には逆に殺されてしまう。
天海市に現れたマルスムもこの伝承に語られる悪魔同様邪悪な性質を示す。組織の手にもおえないほど暴走し際限なく人々の魂を求めている。
