Confidant
In Persona 5 and Persona 5 Royal, Hifumi is the Star arcana Confidant. Joker can meet her after hearing the rumor about a beautiful female shogi player.
Availability
Hifumi can be found practicing Shogi in the Kanda Church during the evening.
Two days after stealing Kaneshiro's treasure, Yusuke will inform the Phantom Thieves that his classmate, Hifumi, often practices Shogi at the Kanda church. Ren may then visit Kanda church. If his Charm is at least rank 3 (Suave), he can speak to her and unlock her Confidant.
After her Confidant is unlocked, she is available on the following dates, during the evening:
June: 27 and 30
July: 2, 4, 6, 9, 11, 19, 27, and 30
August: 1, 3, 6, 8, 10, 13, 16, 17, 20, 22, 24, 27, and 29
September: 3, 19, 21, 24, 26, and 28
October: 5, 8, 10, 15, 22, 24, and 31
November: 2, 5, 7, 9, 12, 14, 16, 26, 28, and 30
December: 3, 5, 7, 10, 12, 14, 17, 19, and 22
January: 14, 16, 18, 21, 23, 25, 28, and 30
February: 1
After rank 7 of her Confidant is unlocked, Ren must have Knowledge of Rank 5 (Erudite) hang out with her again.
Hanging out with her after her rank 7 Confidant unlocks the request "Upstaging the Stage Mother." To unlock her rank 8 Confidant, the Phantom Thieves must venture into Mementos and complete this request.
Because "Upstaging the Stage Mother" cannot be completed until September 5, ranks 8 and above of Hifumi's confidant are effectively locked until September 19.
Ranks 4 and 6 of her Confidant are unavailable on evenings when it is Rainy, as they take place outdoors.

Rank Up Events
Carrying a Persona of the Star arcana increases points earned by 1.5x. If Joker accepts Hifumi's invite on a day off, then points will be increased by 1.2x. These effects are multiplicative, rounded to 6 decimal places.[1]
Joker can begin Hifumi's Confidant two days after clearing Junya Kaneshiro's palace by going to Kanda church and speaking to her. This requires rank 3 Charm. Any responses given during their first meeting will result in rank 1.
